What is Taekwon-Do?
Taekwon-Do is the Korean martial art system designed for self-defence. Its disciplines are the basis for building self respect, respect for each other, confidence and resolve.
Taekwon-Do, just like Karate, Judo and Kung Fu, is a recognised and regulated martial art. That means Wythall TKD follows very strict guidelines designed over many years, to ensure the safest and most responsible training environment for all of our students, regardless of age.

The last point is vitally important to us at Wythall TKD. It means we go to great lengths to make sure our younger members in particular, appreciate the realities of what they are learning and that Taekwon-Do is about respect and not simply kicking and punching without reason!
By training regularly, students progress through a grading system that will also maintain fitness and improve flexibility. Even if Taekwon-Do is practiced for exercise alone, the enjoyment justifies the time spent learning.
If you exercise in a gym, you choose your own pace and level. In a similar way, Taekwon-Do can be suitable for the mature and young, male or female.
