What is the GTUK?

The GTUK - Global Taekwon-Do United Kingdom - is one of the largest Taekwon-Do associations in the UK.

It’s founder and president, Master Roy Oldham (8th Dan) learnt the martial art from Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha IX, who was the first Korean instructor sent to the UK by General Choi in the early 1960’s. Both Master Oldham and the Association are respected throughout the world.

By being a member of the British Taekwon-Do Council, The GTUK is fully regulated and recognised by the British Sports Council. We see this as being vital to anyone considering taking up a martial art - or choosing one responsibly for their children.

The association currently boasts over 100 clubs in England and Scotland, and has strong ties in Scandinavia and Hong Kong. The GTUK host several tournaments throughout the year, to promote the competitive side of the art, and participation is seen as fun and not compulsory.

Students can take advantage of a range of GTUK seminars available to them, as they progress through the grading system.
